PAYA
Digital platform for an association
A platform designed to bring PAYA’s public presence, initiatives, members and the tools supporting its day-to-day operations into one coherent system.
- Identity
- Digital experiences
- Systems & technology

Context
A public website was not enough.
PAYA is a Mauritanian youth association working across areas including education, health, the environment, culture and sport.
The need quickly went beyond creating a public presence. The platform had to present the organisation and its initiatives, support membership, structure member access and give the team the tools required to manage its content and operations.
The project was therefore designed as a platform rather than as a collection of independent pages.

Product architecture
One platform. Three levels of experience.
01Public
Discover and understand PAYA.
The organisation, projects and activities, team, membership, support journeys, FAQ and institutional information.
02Members
Extend the experience beyond membership.
Personal profile, membership dues status, recorded payments, announcements and access shaped by each member’s responsibilities.
03Administration
Run the platform day to day.
Members, roles, content, projects, activities, team, FAQ, media and organisational settings within one environment.
The same platform connects what the organisation presents, what its members use and what its team administers.
Public experience
Give PAYA’s initiatives a coherent digital expression.
The public site brings the organisation’s different types of content into one shared experience. Projects, activities, team, membership and institutional information follow a common structure with particular attention to information hierarchy and clarity.
Field photography keeps the digital experience directly connected to PAYA’s work.

Member experience
The experience continues after registration.
The member space extends the relationship with the organisation beyond registration. Members can access their profile, review their dues status, see recorded payments and follow community announcements.
Access can also evolve according to the responsibilities held within the organisation.

Identity
Evolve what already exists instead of starting over.
PAYA already had an identity. The work focused on evolving it for the new digital environment rather than replacing it.
The logo was lightly refined and the system extended into new identification touchpoints, including a physical badge and a digital membership card.

Administration
The system behind the visible experience.

A dedicated administration environment allows the PAYA team to manage the platform without working directly in the codebase.
Content, projects, activities, members, roles, team, FAQ, media and organisational settings are structured within one environment.
Permissions follow multiple levels of responsibility across the organisation.

Internationalisation
Designing for an interface that also changes direction.
The platform was structured to support French, English and Arabic through the ar-MR locale.
RTL support goes beyond translated copy. Reading direction, typography, alignment, directional elements, number and date formatting, and database-backed content are all part of the internationalisation architecture.

Technical architecture
Build a foundation that can be managed and evolved.
The application separates the public experience, member access, administration, data and media so each part can evolve within one coherent product.

Outcome
One system connecting public presence and operations.
PAYA brings its public expression, member experience and administrative tools together within a single platform.
The project reflects an approach in which the visible experience and the systems behind it are designed together rather than treated as separate concerns.
